guess who's bizack? Prince Paul Part 1.
"To put it plain and simple Prince Paul is an asshole. I tried his Psychoanalysis and all I got was the worst experience of my life."
"That's right, since I tried Prince Paul's Psychoanalysis, he promised me emotional stability, gorgeous women and a record contract with Wordsound, and all I got was a raw deal, what gives?,.... To start off, my family disowned me, my wife ran off with Kool Moe Dee, my boss got me drunk and had anal sex with me and then bragged about it at the office, and to top it off I went to the state prison for a month for soliciting Divine Brown ... not to mention other horrific things too painful to mention. And you know what? All Prince Paul did was kick me in the testies and called me a s--thead and said I was a poor example of a human being....where is the justice? I ask, where is the just-ice?...To put it plain and simple:
"Psychoanalysis sucks D--K"!...."
-Testimonal to Paul's Psychoanalysis (reprinted from wordsound inner sleeve)

Not the rarest of tracks by Paul, but I definately think important and indicitave of the kind of person Paul is and where his music comes from. Appeared originally on the Wordsound compilation "Subterreanean Hitz Vol. 1", and then again on the recently issued "Hip Hop Gold Dust" on Antidote.
- Prince Paul - Sucker For Love (Subterreanean Hitz Vol. 1, Wordsound, 1996)

This album is fantastic. I think everyone should own at least one copy of it. Yes, I am a self admitted Paul dickrider, but this record is just too good. According to some interview I read, Paul made this record in a dark period of his life and is reflected seriously in the music. Anyone who listens to this record could easily see that. Sort of the flipside to the happy-stylings of De La era Paul, and more in line with his Gravediggaz project. I've included the first two 'tracks' from the Wordsound version of Psychoanalysis: What is it? as one track and the exclusive-to-wordsound-pressing song, "The Bitch Blues (Life Experiences)", an expletitive-laden narrative courtesy frequent Paul collaborator, Bimos.
- Prince Paul - First two tracks from Psychoanalysis... (Psychoanalysis: What Is It?, Wordsound, 1996)
- Prince Paul - The Bitch Blues (Life Experiences) (Psychoanalysis:What Is It?, Wordsound, 1996)

I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and say the Gravediggaz need not an introduction, but for that person, here it goes. A "super group" consisting of: Prince Paul, who was also the mastermind behind this project; Fruitkwan, Paul's old homie from Stetsasonic; Too Poetic, old schooler with ties to Paul from way back in the day; and Rzarector, a young Wu-Tang legend-in-the-making, and friend of Paul. Often referred to as the innovators of that amazing subgenre, "horrorcore" (which without we may never have had Flatlinerz, Necro, etc), and was generally in the same vein as the Psychoanalysis record, or rather vice versa as this album predates Psycho.., but a definate indicator of the sound Paul was leaning towards.
- Gravediggaz - Nowhere To Run, Nowhere To Hide (Nowhere To Run... 12", Gee Street, 1994)
- Gravediggaz - The Reincarnation of Freud (Nowhere To Run... 12", Gee Street, 1994) Exclusive to this 12".
- Too Poetic - God Made Me Funky (Funky Vocal Remix) (Poetical Terror 12", Tommy Boy, 1989) Not really Prince Paul related, but still a dope debut 12" from the man who went onto join the Gravediggaz. Dope Paul C. remix.
Onto the more what the... - worthy remixes.. here's two spanning from the late 80's to the mid-late 90's.. both fairly popular mainstream songs. and both get the remix treatment from Paul Huston.
- Imani Coppola - Legend Of A Cowgirl (Prince Paul Mix) (Legend Of A Cowgirl 12", Columbia, 1997) Interesting Paul remix, more along his quirky-style ways.
- Fine Young Cannibals - Good Thing (Prince Paul Mix) (Good Thing 12", MCA, 1989)
Till next time. Updated daily. From now on, I promise.
